Catalina, alternatively recognized as "卡特琳娜" in Chinese and "カタリナ" in Japanese, is a double-flowered rose cultivar originating from Japan. It was bred in 2014 in Toyokawa, Aichi Prefecture.
Catalina showcases pure yellow flowers with a rounded shape and a star-like center. It boasts a lengthy flowering period, spanning 7-10 days, and presents exceptional aesthetic appeal in both bud and full bloom. Upon initial opening, Catalina displays a charmingly small spherical shape, which is highly attractive. Furthermore, it blooms with multiple heads, possesses glossy leaves, excellent disease resistance, and exhibits uniform growth, rendering it an optimal choice for novice cultivators due to its capacity to easily produce standard flowers.
During its initial bloom stage, Catalina's flowers maintain a delightful roundness. Upon full opening, the tightly packed petals completely envelop the flower's center, preserving its beauty. In cooler weather conditions, Catalina's petals may develop a subtle green tint along the edges, which is a natural phenomenon.
