The Hanatemari flower, also known as the "fighter jet" among hydrangeas, is a double-flowered variety native to Japan. It is characterized by dense and large blooms with a perfect hydrangea shape, typically seen in blue or pink-purple hues. Its color can be artificially adjusted. Additionally, it exhibits good upright growth habits and can bloom on both new and old branches. After pruning in August, it can produce another wave of flowers. The Hanatemari flower thrives in warm, moist, and semi-shaded environments, with optimal growth temperatures ranging from 18 to 28 degrees Celsius. Flower bud differentiation requires a temperature range of 5 to 7 degrees Celsius for 6 to 8 weeks. A temperature of 20 degrees Celsius promotes flowering, while 16 degrees Celsius can extend the flowering period. High temperatures can cause the color to fade more quickly.
